Jim Alford
Born in 1943 in Laramie, Wyoming, Jim Alford has lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1986. He received his MFA in Painting at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1973 and was featured in his first Museum show in 1974 at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. He has been featured in many group and solo exhibitions across the country. His work is held in numerous private collections and in the following public collections: Chrysler Building, New York, NY, NASA Kennedy Space Art Museum, Florida Marriott Hotel, Cleveland, OH, CA, San Luis Obispo County Airport, SLO, CA, Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art, Monterey, among others.
Over the years, Alford has completed residencies at the NASA Kennedy Space Art Museum and the Ucross Foundation. He has held teaching positions at East Central University in Ada, OK, Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA, and at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA.
